Lam Dong Hearing Impaired School is a place for physical education and nurturing, listening and speaking are rehabilitated, helping to consolidate literacy and numeracy for children to communicate and integrate into the community. Currently, the school has 13 classes with more than 90 deaf students are led by 34 dedicated teachers and teachers.
The training program for deaf youths for Hoa Sua School has been implemented since 1997. It has trained textile, embroidery for about 600 young people with hearing impairment and disability. This is a hard vocational program because most children in local areas do not have enough education. Go to Hoa Sua, the children have to learned sign language at the same time as major. At the end of the training period, 100% of the children were introduced to textile enterprises or embroidery stores across the country. Vietnam Hearing Impaired People
Hands for Vietnam is a non-profit organization that exists to provide sign language training and resources for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing people in Central Vietnam, as well as to the communities that support them. Jeff Haney serves as the Executive Director of Hands for Vietnam. His interest in sign language began in high school, and he went on to complete both his Bachelor and Master degrees in Deaf Education at the University of Tennessee. Jeff has worked as a deaf educator in a public high school, a free-lance sign language interpreter, an insurance agent, and Manager of Bread of Life, a restaurant employing deaf people in Da Nang, Vietnam. Since moving to Vietnam, he has become an avid mountain biker who likes to say he has “biked places no foreigner has ever seen.” Jeff’s love for God, his family, and the deaf people of Vietnam motivate his work daily.
